Learn how to use EnergyGauge USA software to calculate 6th Edition (2017) Florida Energy Code compliance.

EnergyGauge USA FlaRes is Florida's residential Energy Code compliance and Energy Rating software that is also used for ratings and energy analysis throughout the nation.  In this course the instructors provide an overview of the software and walk students through entering a complete project house using takeoffs from a sample house plan.  Students learn how to use the software to calculate performance and prescriptive Florida Energy Code compliance, and print the Code forms.  Students will learn how to use some advanced energy simulation features for building analysis, such as solar thermal, solar electric and detailed hourly reports. The course also includes instruction on using the software’s system sizing feature and an overview of its Energy Rating capability (note that this course does not provide Energy Rater certification, for more information on becoming a certified Florida Energy Rater, see the Home Energy Rater Training web page).
