STEP 4: HERS Energy Rater
The HERS Rater Training course is the fourth step in becoming an FSEC HERS Certified Energy Rater (formerly known as Class 1 Rater).
Students will complete their training and testing to become an FSEC HERS Certified Energy Rater. Lessons for this four-day course include combustion safety training, 3D simulation training, conducting a provisional home training with field testing and software entry, and RESNET core test review. Tests will be given for the combustion safety, the 3D simulation, and the RESNET core test.
Note 1: students seeking testing and certification will need to pay separate fees to RESNET (online with credit card at the time of testing) for the RESNET 3D Practical Simulator ($200), RESNET CAZ Simulator ($200) and the RESNET National Core exam ($125).
Note 2: Email brexam@fsec.ucf.edu if you have already passed the RESNET CAZ training for available discount and revised course schedule.
Registration begins at 8:00 am and class starts each day at 8:30 am. Lunch is provided.
